Don't Miss the September Marketplace at Magnolia Event!

The September 2015 Marketplace at Magnolia brought fall inventory to the Sacramento vintage shopping scene. After the summer heat kept some vendors home, September marked a return to full vendor turnout and fresh stock.

Fall events at the Marketplace at Magnolia had a different feel than the spring editions. Vendors brought heavier items: cast iron, wooden furniture, wool textiles, and holiday-adjacent decor. September also attracted sellers who had been buying all summer at estate sales and garage sales, building up inventory specifically for the fall market season.

What to expect at a fall Marketplace at Magnolia event:

  • Fall decor. Vintage crates, harvest-themed signage, lanterns, and rustic table settings showed up in volume. Sellers knew their audience.
  • Furniture in heavier woods. Oak, walnut, and mahogany pieces replaced the lighter painted furniture that dominated spring events. Buyers furnishing dens and dining rooms shopped hard in September.
  • Better negotiating. Vendors who bought inventory all summer needed to move it before winter storage became an issue. Reasonable offers on bigger items got accepted more often in fall than spring.

September weather in Sacramento still runs warm, often in the 80s and 90s, but the mornings are comfortable enough for outdoor shopping. Arrive early, bring water, and plan to stay through mid-morning when the best deals happen as vendors gauge what is moving and what is not.
