May 2015 Sacramento Flea Markets
May is peak flea market season in Sacramento. Rain is done, temperatures sit in the comfortable 70s and 80s, and every weekend market in the area runs at full capacity.
The Folsom Boulevard Flea Market hits its stride in May with the highest vendor turnout of the year. Saturdays and Sundays both draw strong crowds, but Saturday morning before 8 AM is still your best window for first picks. By mid-morning, the casual shoppers arrive and the parking lot fills up fast.
The Sacramento Antique Faire on the second Sunday is worth planning your month around. May brings the widest variety of merchandise: furniture, art, vintage clothing, kitchenware, tools, and jewelry all show up in quantity. Vendors travel from the Bay Area and Central Valley to sell here, so the selection goes well beyond local inventory.
What moves fast in May:
- Outdoor furniture. Patio sets, Adirondack chairs, wrought iron tables. Everyone wants them for summer entertaining, and good pieces sell within the first hour.
- Vintage barware. Cocktail sets, decanters, and glassware pick up as people gear up for summer hosting.
- Tools. Garage cleanouts produce hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment. If you restore furniture or flip projects, May is when to stock up.
The heat starts building toward the end of the month. Bring water, wear a hat, and apply sunscreen. Sacramento flea markets are mostly unshaded asphalt, and spending four hours in direct sun without preparation will cut your shopping short.
If you can only pick one month to hit every market in the area, May is it.
