Sacramento Antique Faire Second Sunday of Every Month (April 2013)

Sacramento Antique Faire Second Sunday of Every Month (April 2013)

The Sacramento Antique Faire runs on the second Sunday of every month, and the April 2013 edition featured a strong spring turnout of vendors and collectors from across the region.

This event took place at the faire’s original location under the freeway overpass on 2nd Street. The covered space gave vendors protection from rain and sun, which made it a year-round operation regardless of weather. The faire has since moved to 2300 Front Street, near the California Auto Museum, where it continues to run monthly.

The April 2013 faire had a good mix of inventory:

  • Furniture. Wooden dining chairs, painted dressers, and occasional tables filled the larger vendor spaces. Several dealers specialized in refinished pieces, while others sold as-found stock at lower prices.
  • Glassware and ceramics. Depression glass, Fiesta ware, vintage Pyrex mixing bowls, and stoneware crocks appeared across multiple booths. April tends to bring out kitchen and dining items as people think about outdoor entertaining.
  • Vintage clothing and textiles. Denim jackets, Hawaiian shirts, wool blankets, and linen tablecloths. The clothing vendors at the Antique Faire trend toward wearable vintage rather than costume or period pieces.
  • Collectibles. Postcards, vinyl records, advertising signs, and vintage toys filled the smaller booths and table displays.

The Sacramento Antique Faire is one of the most consistent events in the region. Vendors return month after month, which means you can build relationships with sellers who specialize in what you collect. Regular attendance pays off: dealers will hold items for known buyers, offer better prices to repeat customers, and tip you off when something specific comes through their inventory.

Admission is free. Vendor spaces are affordable compared to formal antique shows, which keeps the prices reasonable for buyers. The combination of low overhead and high foot traffic makes this one of the best regular events for antique shoppers in the Sacramento area.
